Industry Council For Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER)
ICER Accreditation Schemes

ICER has developed Accreditation Schemes in preparation for the WEEE Directive which will be implemented in the UK in 2004. This directive will require increased recycling and re-use of electrical and electronic equipment.

Producers will need to use recyclers who can demonstrate that treatment and recycling have been carried out in accordance with the directive and that the appropriate recovery and recycling targets have been met

The schemes are voluntary and open to all recyclers and refurbishers - commercial or community sector - who can demonstrate that they operate to high standards of environmental performance.
