Profile
Our service covers the broad spectrum of provisions expected from a responsible
and ethical asset management organisation, with an emphasis on sustainable
solutions that extend the life of redundant IT equipment as far as possible
before we look for a recycling solution. Our operations include, but are
not restricted to the following:
· Auditing and Reporting
Our ‘TMACS’ management information system provides accuracy,
transparency and a clear and concise audit trail of all equipment processed,
whether it is upgraded, remarketed or recycled. It allocates a unique
bar code so that any item can be traced at any time during the Tier 1
process and a full work history provided, from point of collection to
onward sale or recycling and includes a certificate of destruction where
necessary.
· Recycling
Tier 1’s commitment to a sound environmental policy extends beyond
what we undertake on behalf of our clients. We are a living, breathing
example of practicing what we preach, and our ‘Green Garden’
project, an ambitious scheme to convert an unused concrete area of our
site into a natural garden area for employees and customers to enjoy will
contain benches and decking made of recycled computer plastics, as well
as other sustainable and energy friendly features.
· Re-marketing
Your end of life IT assets may have run their natural course at a corporate
level, but very often this same equipment has considerable worth in the
second user IT market. We have well-established sales channels, both off-
and online, with a highly respected and trusted brand identity and extensive
range of customers, built up over the last ten years
· Data security
Tier 1 ensures that all data is permanently erased before any equipment
is re-used, re-marketed or recycled. Our methods are scrupulously thorough,
to a standard that meets international defence standards and INFOSEC 5.
In cases where equipment is inoperable or cannot be wiped of data, hard
disk drives are physically removed and are drilled in order to destroy
the data and prevent any subsequent attempts to recover information. This
process is witnessed by Tier 1 personnel and certified as such, before
the equipment is recycled in our usual ethical manner.
· Re-deployment
As a cost effective and ethically friendly alternative to buying new equipment,
Tier 1 can take potentially redundant IT equipment, cleanse data and refurbish
where required and then upgrade the specification of hardware or software
to the standard required.
· Testing
Tier 1 performs thorough testing on all equipment to ensure that a complete
evaluation is carried out against a comprehensive checklist. This enables
us to provide an accurate grading of the equipment with regards to functionality,
product specification and cosmetic appearance.
· Charitable donations
Tier 1 can ensure that your donated equipment is tested and where necessary
refurbished, to ensure that it is fit for purpose, ensuring a client’s
worthy intentions are combined with a practical and secure result.
· Employee purchase schemes
Tier 1 can host and manage this process from start to finish, removing
the complex benefit-in-kind concerns, data protection, and product safety
and warranty issues.
